How Harpe Racing began...

Unbelievable, but about ten years ago Mr. Harpe came in through the back door of our home and announced he was building a huge "garage" in our back yard so that he could start building a 410 winged sprint car.  Well, even if I didn't like the idea much at first, what could I say?  I'd always promised him that he could race someday after the kids were raised.  Little did I think that he'd really do it!!!  But here we are getting ready enter our 5th year of racing.

The Harpe racing history goes back even a little further than 1998.  Allen's dad, Azalea, and Allen's Uncle, Hilry Harpe, had been racing since the 1940's.  That's how Allen said racing "got into his blood."  Even after they stopped working on cars themselves they were avid fans of the Outlaw greats such as Steve and Mark Kinser.   They rarely missed a race that was close by.  They are both gone now, but I have a feeling the legend will live on for a while.

God blessed us tremendously with good family and friends.  We trust Him to lead us during this new adventure in our lives, and in the lives we come into contact with in our travels.

So racing, "Here come the Harpes."
